The Injustice System Rolls On.
On February 6th, a jury found Jennifer Crumbley, the mother of Michigan school shooter Ethan Crumbley, guilty of involuntary manslaughter after Ethan Crumbley killed four students at his high school in November 2021.
As part of their conclusions, the jury found that Jennifer and her husband (his trial to begin on March 5th) bought their son the gun used in the shooting and failed to respond to warning signs of the 15-year-old.
Okay, I am no fan of Jennifer Crumbley, and she may deserve the worst parent award. But if a jury is going to find Crumbley guilty of involuntary manslaughter because she wasn't a perceptive or engaged parent, what about the mothers and fathers "responsible" for the men and women liable for the 26,328 gun-related deaths in 2021, according to the CDC. Or the 617 homicides and 2,450 shootings across Chicago throughout 2023?
Will we be seeing those parents arrested and being prosecuted?
